Open Position · Video Editor

Video editor who wants their cuts to move ROAS.

A small-team seat at 8FC for editors who see where this industry is going and want to be ahead of it. You and the strategist, launching ads that run on real money.

The role

More than editing.

Most editor jobs end at export. Yours starts there. The ad goes live on Meta, spend kicks in, and by Monday we know if your cut won or lost. Winners get scaled. Losers get diagnosed. You're in both conversations.

You'll cut 8 to 15 ads a week across our 7- and 8-figure DTC clients. Hooks, UGC remixes, AI hybrid concepts. You'll sit directly with the strategist who wrote the brief, not three layers of project managers. You'll also build with AI from day one. ElevenLabs for VO. Runway and Higgsfield for shots we can't film. Descript for fast iteration.

If you stick around and learn fast, the path is clear. Editor in month 1. Editor who pitches concepts by month 6. AI-powered creative strategist owning a client's output by month 12. The ceiling here is what you build.

Is this you?

Honest fit check.

This is for you if

  • You've cut paid ads before and you check the spend report the next morning to see if your edit actually worked.
  • You already use AI in your workflow (Runway, Topaz, ElevenLabs, Descript) and you want to go deeper.
  • You think in hooks, retention curves, and thumb-stop rates, not J-cuts and color grades.
  • You want to graduate from button-pusher to creative strategist within 12 months.
  • You'd rather launch 10 rough cuts and learn from data than polish one cut for a week.
  • You read Foreplay, Marketing Examples, and a couple of ad accounts every week without being told.
  • You want one direct conversation with the strategist, not five Slack threads with middlemen.

This is NOT for you if

  • You think AI is a fad and refuse to touch it.
  • You want to edit brand films, music videos, or wedding reels.
  • You need a senior editor babysitting your timeline every day.
  • You measure your work by how cinematic it looks, not whether it sold product.
  • You shut down when someone challenges your cut.
  • You go quiet when revisions land in the channel.
How to apply

Send a 60-second Loom.

Walk me through one ad you cut, the metric it moved, and one AI tool you actually use weekly. That's it. No CV, no cover letter, no portfolio site. The Loom tells me more than any of those.
